Nienke van Eck was born in 1950 in Ede, the Netherlands. Having studied at the Academy of Art in Arnhem, she lived and worked for many years in Amsterdam. In 1992 she returned to her home town of Ede. Then in 2020 she moved to a ‘Petit Château’ in Burgundy in France and now works from the hayloft of the former stables where she has her own gallery, ‘Galerie Pomona’.
